I’m the kind of person who is passionate about so many things that I sometimes have hard time staying focused. I’m a mom and a wife, a professional Brazilian Samba dancer and Flamenco dance student, an academic researcher, former freelance writer and current web designer. I’m also a die hard traveler and travel hacker (figuring out ways to travel for free and teaching others how to do so). I believe that being present is important, and have a regular meditation practice. I’m married to a professional photographer, and we share a wide and varied family history – with descendants from Texas cowboys, French Canadians and African slaves. Our son is a talented, handsome and creative teenager whom I love more than life itself. I’ve walked some difficult paths and come out the other side. The one thing I try to never lose sight of is gratitude.
One of the threads that has stayed constant in my life is my love of words. Writing helps keep me on the razor’s edge of reality, and can miraculously capture – for a moment – that elusive, continually shifting experience that is life. Writing changes me, wakes me up, puts things in perspective.
I’ve created this website as a place to share some of my personal writing – poetry in particular. I hope you find something you resonate with.
